The Metamorphosis
The Metamorphosis is Franz Kafka’s seminal novella, in which salesman Gregor Samsa wakes up one morning to find himself transformed into a giant insect. Alienated by his family and rejected by society, he descends into isolation and despair. Through this surreal premise, Kafka explores themes of alienation, existential anxiety, and the fragility of human relationships in a dehumanizing modern world.
